The Powerball jackpot for Wednesday’s lottery drawing has increased to an estimated $76 million with a cash option of $38.2 million.
The winning numbers were: 28, 34, 51, 53 and 56. The Powerball drawn was 11 with a Power Play of 2X.
While no one across the country hit Monday’s $62.9 million jackpot, a second-prize ticket matching five numbers but not the Powerball was sold in Washington state. It’s worth $2 million instead of the standard $1 million.
Monday’s winning numbers were 19, 35, 53, 54 and 67. The Powerball drawn was 21 with a Power Play of 2X.
In addition, no one won the secondary, $10 million Double Play drawing held after the main drawing Monday. The Double Play numbers drawn were 8, 18, 29, 44 and 68. The Double Play Ball number drawn was 3.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 of winning the third prize of at least $50,000.
Powerball is played on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth an estimated $238 million with a cash option of $119.1 million.
