The Powerball jackpot for Monday’s lottery drawing has increased to an estimated $285 million with a cash option of $151.2 million.
The winning numbers were: 13, 20, 31, 33 and 59. The Powerball drawn was 20 with a Power Play of 3X.
While no one across the country hit Saturday’s $274.8 million jackpot, a ticket bought in New Jersey with the Jackpocket app was one of seven second-prize tickets purchased nationwide. Two each were sold in California and Indiana while one was bought in Louisiana and one in Michigan. One of the Indiana tickets was purchased with the Power Play option for an extra $1 and is worth $2 million.
Two of the $50,000 tickets were also bought in New Jersey — one at a 7-Eleven on Livingston Street in Norwood and the other at a QuickChek on Route 206 in Raritan Borough. Each matched four numbers plus the Powerball.
Saturday’s winning numbers were: 3, 9, 21, 24 and 29. The Powerball drawn was 14 with a Power Play of 2X.
In addition, no one won the secondary, $10 million Double Play drawing on Saturday. The winning numbers were: 5, 30, 38, 46 and 66. The Double Play ball drawn was 25.
No one has hit the Powerball jackpot since a $206.9 million ticket was purchased in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, for the Aug. 3 drawing.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 of winning the third prize of at least $50,000.
Powerball is played on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
