The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s lottery drawing has increased to an estimated $353 million with a cash option of $256 million.
The winning numbers are: 61, 24, 51, 6, 2. Powerball 1 and Power Play 2x.
While no one across the country hit Wednesday’s $335 million jackpot, a second-prize $1 million ticket was bought in Maryland. It matched five numbers, but not the Powerball.
In New Jersey, no one won more than $300 with a single ticket.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were: 19, 20, 40, 42 and 59. The Power Ball was 15 with a Power Play of 3x.
In addition, no one hit the secondary, $10 million Double Play drawing on Wednesday. There were also no second-prize, $500,000 tickets sold. The Double Play numbers drawn were: 11, 21, 22, 50 and 58. The Double Play Ball drawn was 2.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are 292,201,388 to 1. A player who buys a $2 ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers and win at least $1 million, while the odds are 913,129 to 1 of winning the third prize of at least $50,000.
Powerball is played on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, Washington D.C., the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.
The New Jersey Lottery offices in Lawrence are now open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. if a player prefers to drop off a claim and validate a winning ticket in person. Claims can be left in a secure drop box at lottery headquarters. That applies to prizes worth more than $599.50.
If a player wins a prize of $25,000 or more (or otherwise feels more comfortable submitting their claim in person) appointments can still be made to meet with a lottery representative in person by calling 1-800-222-0996.
