Minneota woman pleads guilty to lottery fraud | News, Sports, Jobs

MARSHALL — A Minneota woman pleaded guilty to charges of state lottery fraud on Tuesday, Lyon County court records said.

Kristy Jo Williams, 51, appeared in Lyon County District Court on two separate sets of lottery fraud charges. A pair of criminal complaints allege that Williams claimed a total of more than $500 in cash prizes from lottery tickets in Balaton and Marshall last year. Both complaints alleged that the lottery tickets Williams redeemed were ones that had been stolen in a burglary at a Slayton gas station.

At Tuesday’s hearings, Williams pleaded guilty to three counts of lottery fraud in each of the two court cases, records said.

In both cases, the judge ordered a pre-sentencing investigation, and set a sentencing hearing for March 14.
