The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday’s lottery drawing has jumped to an estimated $360 million, with a cash option valued at $199.3 million.
The winning numbers were: 1, 27, 29, 38 and 62. The Mega Ball drawn was 12 with a Megaplier of 3x.
No one across the country hit Tuesday’s $333 million jackpot. There were also no second-prize, $1 million tickets sold.
In New Jersey, a pair of $10,000 third-prize tickets were sold — one at QuickChek on Kinderkamack Road in Emerson, the other at Avyn on Newark Pompton Turnpike in Little Falls. Each ticket matched four numbers plus the Mega Ball.
Tuesday’s winning numbers were: 7, 12, 21, 43 and 55. The Mega Ball drawn was 11 with a Megaplier of 2x.
No one has won the Mega Millions top prize since Herman Kahan of Brooklyn, New York won a $128 million jackpot in the March 8 drawing. Kahan chose the cash option and collected $52,559,839 after taxes were deducted.
The odds of a $2 ticket matching all the winning numbers are 302,575,350 to 1. Players have a 1 in 12,607,306 chance of a ticket matching five numbers but not the Mega Ball and winning at least $1 million.
Mega Millions drawings are held on Tuesday and Friday in 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
New Jersey Lottery offices in Lawrence are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. if players prefer to drop off claims and validate winning tickets in person. Claims can be left in a secure drop box at lottery headquarters. That option applies to prizes worth more than $599.50.
If a player wins a prize of $25,000 or more (or would otherwise prefer to submit a claim in person) appointments can be made to meet with a lottery representative in person by calling 1-800-222-0996.
Prizes valued at $599.50 or less should be claimed at lottery retailers.
