Massachusetts State Lottery: Winning $1 million makes for a nice start to the week


It wasn’t just another Monday for two people who bought a lottery tickets in Brockton and Seekonk. Each was able to claim a significant prize, with the person in Seekonk picking up $1 million and the Brockton purchaser winning $500,000.

The $1 million was for a game called “$1,000,000 Winning 7″ and the ticket was purchased at Seekonk Mobil. The Brockton ticket was for a game called “500 Grand” and was sold at Sona’s One Stop.

In addition to these, three $100,000 prizes were won on Monday in Lawrence, Quincy and New Bedford.

Overall, there were more than 800 winning lottery tickets worth at least $600 claimed or sold in Massachusetts on Monday, including 26 in Worcester and 21 in Springfield.

The Massachusetts State Lottery releases a full list of all the winning tickets each day. The list only includes winning tickets worth more than $600.

The largest lottery prizes won in Massachusetts this year were two $15 million prizes. Both lottery prizes were claimed by trusts.
