The people who say the NBA Summer League isn’t exciting and has nothing to offer are obviously not fans of the Sacramento Kings.
This is good because Kings fans haven’t had much to get fired up about for the last, oh, 17 years.
But something special could be coming to Sac-Town.
Keegan Murray dropped 29 points for the Kings tonight, already his 5th 20-point game of this Summer League.

That something special is Keegan Murray, the number four pick in last month’s NBA Draft.
He has been incredible – and incredibly consistent – during the Summer League.
On Wednesday night, Murray put up 29 points, which was his fifth time breaking at least 20 points in the Summer League.
That’s impressive by itself but it’s more impressive when you think of this: the other 13 lottery picks from the 2022 draft have combined for six total 20-point games, and only Bennedict Mathurin of the Indiana Pacers has multiple, with two.
Kings Incoming
Murray can score a lot and shoot efficiently but he can do more than just that.
He can also grab rebounds and even a few steals too.
He’s energetic and versatile, which will definitely come in handy for the Kings in the months ahead.
It’s far too soon to tell but they are attempting to create something focused and successful right now.
With new head coach Mike Brown in charge and a few great trades, the Kings are poised to maybe have a season that’s not a complete disaster.
Murray will be part of that, especially if he is able to translate his Summer League success into regular season greatness.
There is no doubt that Murray is a breakout star of the Summer League.
Now fans are just waiting to see what he does in the fall.
