Dennis McGurk bought a few Idaho Lottery tickets, and he “kept winning $1,000 back to back,” officials said.

Then he bought another ticket and scored an even larger prize.

He won $2,500, the Idaho Lottery said in a Wednesday, Dec. 14, Facebook post.

McGurk, from Nampa, doesn’t know how he kept winning, but he said he won’t play cashword games.

“Oh, there’s no rhyme or reason as to what games I play. I just like to have fun,” he told the Idaho Lottery.

He said he also scored $2,500 in 2015 around the same time of year.

McGurk, who works at a local cheese plant and has lived in Idaho for 17 years, plans to use his money on his 14-year-old granddaughter.

He said she has high-functioning autism. He usually takes her on “dates” every Tuesday to the movies.

Nampa is about 20 miles west of Boise.
