STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — The New York Lottery announced on Monday that one top-prize ticket for the April 24 TAKE 5 MIDDAY drawing – worth $18,316 – was sold on Staten Island.
The ticket was purchased at Island Food Market, Inc. located at 231 Broad Street in Stapleton, and has yet to be claimed.
TAKE 5 numbers are drawn from a field of one through 39. The drawing is broadcasted on television twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
TAKE 5 players with midday and evening draws on the same ticket must check their numbers at nylottery.ny.gov to determine if they have the winning numbers for the corresponding midday or evening drawing.
A Lottery draw game prize of any amount may be claimed up to one year from the date of the drawing.
The New York Lottery continues to be touted as North America’s largest and most profitable lottery, contributing $3.59 billion during fiscal year 2020-21 to support education in New York State.
New York Lottery revenue is distributed to local school districts by the same statutory formula used to distribute other state aid to education. It takes into account both a school district’s size and its income level; larger, lower-income school districts receive proportionately larger shares of lottery school funding.
New Yorkers struggling with a gambling addiction, or who know someone who is, can find help by calling the State’s toll-free, confidential HOPEline at 1-877-8-HOPENY (1-877-846-7369) or by texting HOPENY (467369).
