Two lucky Arizonans had their numbers called in Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing, each winning $50,000.
Both victors matched four of the five digits plus the Powerball number.
The winning numbers were 2, 6, 9, 33 and 39 with the Powerball number 11.
One of the two winning tickets was purchased at a Chevron gas station on Cooper Road in Chandler, according to the Arizona Lottery.
The other was sold at Kingman Travel Center on Beale Street in Kingman.
The estimated jackpot for Powerball’s New Year’s Day drawing has increased to $500 million for a $355.9 million cash value.
Game leaders bumped up the pot from $483 million on Thursday.
“We’re heading into the New Year with a really exciting opportunity for our players,” Shelby Alessi with the Arizona Lottery told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
Tickets are available for purchase until 7:59 p.m. Saturday, she said.
The jackpot was hit six times in 2021, the most recent on Oct. 4.
A single ticket in California won $699.8 million, the fifth-most in Powerball history.
Saturday’s drawing will be the 38th of this jackpot run.
